2023 IIHE Annual Meeting at the Africa Museum in Tervuren

The 2023 IIHE Annual Meeting took place on Wednesday November 15th at the beautiful Africa Museum in Tervuren.
At the agenda of the morning session, we heard presentations on IIHE news by the directors, highlights from the CMS and Icecube collaborations, updates on the CMS phase 2 tracker project, first results from RNO-G and RET experiments.
We had a nice lunch on the last floor of the entrance building with a beautiful view on the park.
The afternoon session was dedicated to reviews from the IT team, high-energy astronomy with LOFAR and SKA, gravitational wave physics and phenomenology research, and neutrino physics with JUNO and SOLID.
After a coffee break, we had two dedicated short presentations on tagging the electroweak processes with machine learning in CMS and on the status of the MilliQan experiment.
The great moment came after, with the (self-)presentations of all the (14!) newcomers to the Institute (hired in 2023).
Finally we had the great opportunity to visit the museum, which was totally renovated 5 years ago.
