FCC 2019 held in Brussels

The fifth International Future Circular Collider (FCC) Conference takes place in Brussels

The fifth International Future Circular Collider (FCC) Conference takes place in Brussels, Belgium, from 24 to 28 June 2019. The FCC week 2019 with above 400 participants marks the completion of the conceptual feasibility study for a post-LHC research infrastructure which is documented in the four volumes of the FCC Conceptual Design Report.

The FCC Week 2019 brings together leading minds in science, engineering and economics to review the results of the first phase of the FCC study and to discuss and set the near-term goals for the coming years. The opening session was chaired by professor Jorgen D’Hondt (VUB/IIHE) and welcomed keynotes from amongst others Dr. Fabiola Gianotti (CERN Director General) and Mr. Herman Van Rompuy (previous President of the European Council and former Prime Minister of Belgium).

More info (in Dutch) can be found via the VUB website.
