Soumya Dansana, joint ULB-VUB PhD at the IIHE, explains his
latest thesis results in a CMS physics briefing article : "Hunting
exotic H bosons decaying to lighweight scalar particles"
In a first search of its kind at the LHC, the CMS experiment
looks for light beyond-the-standard-model particles with a mass in the
GeV range that decay into charged hadrons and muons. It establishes that
if they exist and decay withing the CMS tracking detector, they would be
produced in less than 0.01% of all Higgs boson decays.
